Getting Holiday Ready with Hive Smart Products

It’s the most wonderful time of the year. We have definitely been getting into the holiday spirit, decorating, drinking hot chocolate, and cozying up indoors LOTS. With the cold winter months upon us, we have been enjoying our Hive Smart Products like no other time of year! We recently just came back from Punta Cana, it was so easy to just put the vacation dates into the  Hive Active Thermostat and the heat went to sleep for the week until it was time for us to come back. Since there is nothing worse than coming home to a cold house, I made sure to turn the heat on while on our drive home from the airport. It has been so cold and gross out that there hasn’t really been much opportunity to be outside so we have been enjoying our warm cozy home so much. The Hive Active Thermostat has been making it so easy to control the heat from anywhere in the house. If we are playing upstairs in the kids bedrooms I don’t have to go downstairs to check the heat, I can easily do it from my phone. We have also been loving that we can schedule our heat to come on and off so we don’t have to remember to do it, it’s got six scheduled time slots a day so you can really customize the heat to your needs. If we ever have some spontaneous plans, I love that even if I forget to turn the heat down when I leave (which, ummm NEVER happens in case my husband is reading this), I know that I can always turn the heat down on the Hive app, wherever I am. Plus if I ever forget to turn it back up, we have the thermostat connected to a Hive Motion Sensor, so it kicks on as soon as we walk through the door. Since we like to use the plug-in oil heaters to keep the kids bedrooms warm, the Hive Active Plugs have been SO handy. I make sure that I turn the plug on 30 minutes before bedtime/naptime and I LOVE how their rooms are so warm and cozy when they are ready for bed. We have been decorating and getting Christmassy over here and the Hive Active Plug is also SO handy for the Christmas tree lights, I just schedule it to turn on at 4:30 when it starts getting dark and the kids totally think we have a magical tree, they sit there and wait for it to turn on every night! Same goes for the Hive Active Lights , they are scheduled to turn on right when it turns dark and for a few hours in the morning. Since it’s getting dark SO early with the days getting shorter, I know that I never have to walk through a dark house (and step/slip on some toy that the kids left out).
